IndiGo Airways has continuously been adding aircrafts to its fleet and currently the total number stands at 20 Airbus aircrafts. IndiGo Airways had placed and order of 100 (A 320s and A321s) aircrafts in the 2005 Paris Air show, is being executed by Airbus Plc and by 2015 all the aircrafts would add to its fleet.
The brand-new IndiGo flights A320 seat up to 180 passengers. The A320 is the founding member of the best selling Airbus single aisle family making it the widest cabin in the single aisle jetliners. Its wide fuselage provides for wider seats and more room for cabin baggage. This also increases its capacity to load containerized cargo in its lower hold.
The other aircraft of the IndiGo Airways, A321 seats up to 199 passengers and is the largest member of the Airbus 320 family. It offers the best seat mile cost of any single aisle aircraft. Its seating capacity is in the realm of any wide body jetliner. IndiGo Airways at this point in time only has economy class seats and does not operate in the Business/Luxury domain.
After the record order of 100 Airbus aircrafts in 2005, the fleet has been updated with regular deliveries of A320 and A321 aircraft. By 2010, passengers would be able to book IndiGo airtickets on an IndiGo Airlines network of 30 Indian cities by 2010, served by a fleet of 40 aircrafts.
